IMPORTANT UPDATE:

The 2012 Australian Deaf Games photos will be put up AFTER THE GAMES FINISH - I have to go home and edit the photos first. As it is, I have been working for 14-17 hours per day taking photos and obviously this doesn't leave me any time to work on the pictures nor upload them.
Simon O'Neill will also be doing the same and putting them up on this website (with his logo on his pictures) and all the money from buying his photos will go directly to him.

Thank you for your understanding and patience.

Hello!

I am a young man with Ushers Syndrome. (To those not in the know, a syndrome must have three or more SEPARATE disabilities to qualify as a syndrome.)
To put it in a nutshell, I am:
* profoundly Deaf
* have night blindness
* RP - Retinitis Pigmentosa, gradual loss of peripheral vision.

As it is, I have under ten percent of my vision left, but as you can see, it's definitely not stopping me from enjoying the world and taking as many pictures of beautiful things as I can.

In 2007 I got a full scholarship to The Learning Connexion in Wellington, New Zealand, where I could further refine my love of carving, painting and photography.
In 2010 I completed Tools for New Media at TAFE and whilst studying there, won the 2010 Tafe Photography Awards (1st place) with the photograph 'Green Smiles'.

This year I won the Able Australia DeafBlind Photography contest where I came first in the category 'Favorite People' and second in every other category. (Four categories altogether)

I now reside in Melbourne, Australia where I teach young Deaf students film and editing, as well as being a role model. I am also currently working on my own project that hopefully will have a huge impact on the lives of many many deaf people.

Hope you enjoy looking through my pictures, and remember, don't let anything pull you down. Life's too short.
